The HL23 is rugged, bright and comfortable. The power button is nicely tactile and can be operated even wearing gloves. My only criticism so far is that the battery compartment cap doesn't have a retainer and could become separated and lost if changing batteries in the dark.

Works well, better light than my old head torch on the minimum setting.

Bit of a shame the position notches are only present for angling in one direction. It means you cannot choose which way around to mount it and hence which end the button is on when worn.

I've only used it once so far, but it worked well for my needs (a through the night audax with added double-drop rainfall), so I can't fault it, so I give it five stars/
