The Fenix HM50R headtorch has a maximum output of 500 lumens from the Cree XM-L2 U2 LED and is powered by either 1 x 16340 (RCR123) Li-ion rechargeable battery or 1 x CR123 single use cell. The HM50R comes with a Fenix 16340 battery which can be charged inside the headtorch via a micro USB charging cable (included).
Light, compact and extremely versatile, the HM50R has been designed to see you through the seasons, with an ability to withstand extreme temperatures. Offering four brightness levels ranging from 4 to 500 lumens, the headlamp can be mounted in the silicone mount or removed and held in the hand for 90° illumination.
The Fenix HM50R is controlled by one switch on the head of the light which doubles as an innovative battery level indicator. When the light is off, single click the switch to check the remaining power level; if a green light comes on the power is above 80%, if the green light flashes it is between 50 and 80%, if a blue light comes on the battery is between 20 and 50% and if the blue light flashes the battery is below 20%.

High: 130 lumens - 14 hrs runtime
Mid: 30 lumens - 48 hrs runtime
Low: 4 lumens - 128 hrs runtime
Maximum beam distance 80 meters, waterproof to IP68 and resistant to impacts up to 1 meter.
Operation
- Press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds to turn the light on and off.
- When on, single press the switch to cycle through the outputs, in order Low-Mid-High-Turbo.

| Bought this head touch because my Bluetooth all singing and dancing petzl head touch with sensors just suddenly switches off as and when it feels like it normally in a forest at night plunging me into sudden darkness! and having changed it twice it was time to move away from petzl. My requirements for a head touch is as many lumens as I can afford and as small as with good (rechargeable) battery life. This is a nice little touch, You will be amazed how small it is. I've not had a chance to use it in the environment I got it for so not sure how bright it will compare but at 500 lumens to petzls 350 it promises to be better plus It hasn't switched itself off big plus! It is more of a spot but has a good spread which running tho a park at night has worked out really well so far but the forest will tell. Price wise well it was the same as the petzl, smaller ,stronger and much more waterproof. Battery wise...Not sure as I'm only using them for 45 mins but I did down load a light meter app and it read the same out put after 45 mins as when I started so on the whole I'm a happy bunny. | |

| Solidly built light and simple to use. Does not have a million modes and is better for it. Brightness as advertised and stable on the head. Reflective headband is a nice touch. | |
